Vantage-Point is a web based production monitoring system for monitoring production efficiency, output and downtime in Real-Time. Being web based allows the system to be accessed from any PC in the company that has a web browser and with the appropriate security potentially any PC in the world with web access. Web based solutions also reduce the installation and maintenance costs and make the integration of multiple factory units and locations much easier. Ease of installation also ensures disruption to the manufacturing process is kept to a minimum. The system is infinitely scalable and can, cost effectively, be adapted to the small, medium or very large users.
The FAMMS Machine interface (First Alert Machine Monitoring)
The Famms Machine interface collects real-time production counts from up-to 32 machines and can determine if the machine is producing or 'dry cycling'. This solution is particularly effective where there is no requirement for frequent operator entered information. Operator inputs can be entered at any convenient PC or a portable device such as a PDA. Where there is a requirement for the operator to regularly enter data then we have available an operator terminal which may be more suitable. An operator terminal can be located on each machine or a group of machines and enables the operator to enter information such as Downtime Reason, Scrap or Quality Data without leaving the work area.
Portable data entry
Information such as down time or scrap can be entered at any PC using a web browser or portable devices such as a PDA. The PDA provides a flexible and cost effective solution to data entry in a factory environment and gives the opportunity to provide staff with information from other sources such as stock control, works orders or sales orders. Where there are concerns over security of such a device the units can be mounted in a secure cradle which can also provide power. A unit can also be 'locked down' where it will only run certain applications, therefore making them useless on the open market. The devices can also be made to cause an alarm on the central system if they go off-line.
E-mail and SMS text messaging
An effective method of communicating real-time information is the use of e-mail and SMS text Alert messages. This means you will never miss an important event in the factory.
The ELX Machine Interface
For those who prefer the more traditional approach to Production Monitoring we have available the ELX Machine Interface. The ELX is a self contained monitoring terminal housing a display, operator keyboard and input functions. Each terminal can monitor up-to 4 machines thus making it very cost effective and communicates to the central system by either a cable or radio network. Wall and pane mount options are available. The keyboard overlay can be fully customised at no extra cost to provide a fully tailored solution.
Radio Communications
A significant costs of a monitoring system is wiring the factory, by using radio communications this cost is eliminated. Radio communications also gives greater flexibility when the shop floor is reconfigured allowing machines to be moved without disrupting the system.
